Rugged Products
Based on the proven SKYchannel VME high performance embedded systems, SKY Computers'
rugged products are designed to meet today's most demanding
environmental challenges while maintaining high reliability, performance, and ease of
technology insertion/refresh across the program life cycle.
Solutions for All Environmental Levels
SKY Computers provides a range of ruggedization options to allow a developer to
start with a commercial system for application development. Once this phase is
completed, the application can migrate seamlessly to rugged products for deployment
in harsh environments. SKY's rugged products, the Xtreme2 have completed qualification
testing for extended shock, vibration, and temperature ranges. The testing meets the
MIL-STD-810 benchmark specifications and confirms the applicability of Xtreme2 for signal
processing environments that are subject to wide ranges of operating/non-operating temperatures
and survivability in demanding shock and vibration environments.
Life-Cycle Support
SKY business model reflects the requirements of the Government and the Defense contractor
base. By ensuring flexibility in our working relationship with contractors and striving to
understand their divergent needs, SKY maintains long-term customer relationships. With a
thorough understanding their business model and the challenges of the life-cycle management,
SKY provides a level of commitment not found in other COTS companies. SKY has developed an
easy to use tutorial program called Mission Ready COTS
that provides a framework for the evaluation of COTS, rugged COTS and mission critical "extreme"
COTS electronics technologies and vendors. The program provides defense and military developers
with a guide to selecting technologies and vendors across the COTS electronics landscape.
